Split, in the (WACLA), WeAreChangeLA steering committee.

To all interested parties I want to make you aware of a recent split in the steering committee of WACLA. Due to serious issues within the committee I have chosen along with others to separate from what remains (4) of the original 8 steering committee members. I will be happy to provide details as to why I felt it necessary to take this step but I do not think it is appropriate or desirable to explain in detail here. Those interested in a detailed explanation can contact me at adam@wearechangela.org for answers to any questions or concerns you have.

What the split means to the membership of WeAreChangeLA:

The website www.wearechangela.org is currently being operated and maintained by myself and by the original webmaster. The website is still 100% focused on the goals of the WeAreChange organization and on the goals of the 9/11 truth and justice movement as a whole. We encourage you to check out the website often as there will be frequent updates and important information posted regularly.

A new “losangeleschange” youtube account has been established http://www.youtube.com/user/losangeleschange to post videos from our members. You are encouraged to support it and contribute to it as members of WeAreChangeLA. The “wearechangela” youtube account name is held by the 4 remaining steering committee members and they alone are responsible for and decide upon its content.

The WeAreChangeLA name belongs to all of us not just to a “steering committee” and my efforts will be directed towards making the website and youtube account a useful resource for all of the 9/11 truth activists and truth groups in southern California and around the world. We are all change and we should all have a say in what direction the group takes. We will endeavor to cooperate with and support other truth groups and other activist groups to the greatest extent possible. Our strength is our diversity and although we may have very different views on many issues we are all united for 9/11 Truth and Justice!

The first step we will take is to establish a fair and impartial decision making process based on democratic principles. Secondly an organizing committee will be set up by nominations from the membership and by a vote process. These organizers will act as stewards for the group and function to support the group as a whole. Specific roles and responsibilities will be given to each organizing committee member. Each person on the organizing committee will serve in their position for no more then 6 months at which time new members will be nominated by the membership and one selected by majority vote to fill the vacant position. The person leaving the organizing committee will not be eligible to be on the organizing committee again for a minimum of 6 months. This structure will ensure that everyone not only has a say in the direction the group takes but also shares the responsibilities of running the group. The tasks and responsibilities will be distributed as equally as possible among the organizing committee roles to be established.

A new meetup group will be established shortly and will start accepting members. An e-mail alert will be sent out once it is set up but I urge you to keep checking the website for updates and news of the new meetup launch as we may not have your e-mail address on file. The existing meetup group is under the exclusive control of the 4 remaining steering committee members and they alone are responsible for what decisions are made there.

I would like to collaborate with you in establishing an enduring group, founded upon democratic principles, focused on powerful and effective non-violent action, that will continue and grow long after we leave it.
